Ecology

“Bee” Eco, Be at TRANSYLVANIA!!!

With things like pollution coming into question, people around the world are undoubtedly more worried about the future of the world. Everyone is talking about all the mess, but few are acting in order to love and respect Mother Nature.

One simple way is to keep clean and tidy your surroundings. This is something that everyone can do and also recycling is for free. So… GOOD news!

TRANSYLVANIA CALLING will provide garbage bags for everyone that enters the festival. A wise and easy decision is to make sure that during the festival you keep an eye on your left-overs so you don’t have to work twice cleaning around.

There will be an small deposit (around 5 euros) for one plastic bag (which will be provided to you at the entry-gate). The deposit will be returned when the bag is brought back, filled with waste.

Save the Planet – Save yourself!

Our goal is to provide a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment for people to come together in collective creative expression within a community of dance, love and partying. We aim to become a leader amongst cultural events in environmental matters and will be doing all we can to realise thi vision. We welcome and encourage any input or ideas. Please drop us a line if you want to support or participate in this very important part of the festival! contact@ecowarriors.ro

Besides ecowarriors we are looking for experienced organisations that want and can help us make this event even more sustainable and ecologic!

Waste

Perhaps one the greatest impacts, and definitely the most obvious one, is the waste generated from thousands of people living together for four days.

While some waste may be unavoidable, with your help we aim to decrease the impact of rubbish contaminating the site and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. Please think about what you are bringing onsite in order to minimise your waste. Please do not bring along bulky items such as couches of hard rubbish unless you are prepared to take it home with you.

As usual, you will be provided with rubbish bags and cigarette-butt containers at the gate and we ask that you use them for waste disposal. More bags and containers will be available from the information tent.

Please take your rubbish with you or deposit it in one of the skips, leaving your campsite in the same or better condition that you found it. This year we are introducing recycling for plastic bottles and cans, and we request that you follow the instructions when using these facilities. This will hopefully make a significant difference to the amount of resources going to landfill.

There will be an small deposit (around 5 euros) for one plastic bag (which will be provided to you at the entry-gate). The deposit will be returned when the bag is brought back, filled with waste.

Making a difference

There are many ways that can make a difference to the impact we all have on the planet and we hope that environmental responsibility extends beyond the festival. We are working with a number of environmental organisations to provide you with information and tips on how to make your lives more environmentally sustainable which will be available from the information tent. To find out more online about the issues and what you can do follow the links below to these organisations and others.

Final note

Please respect the environment – help preserve the trees and nature for all to enjoy. We are blessed in this country to be able to stage events such as this, outdoors and amongst natural beauty. However, the continuation of the festival and its use of the site is reliant on respect and an effort by all to reduce our environmental impact. Addressing issues such as waste collection and disposal, and providing fresh drinking water incurs significant financial costs that are eventually reflected in ticket prices. Everyone doing their bit will ensure costs are kept down and enable all to enjoy a clean, safe and natural experience throughout the festival.
