The area around Sibiu has many historic towns and scenic villages, which are great for exploring. From typical Saxon villages, fortified churches and some of Sibiu’s most impressive visitor attractions, the surroundings offer plenty of things to see and do.

Sinaia – Bran,Dracula’s castle
The trip starts early in the morning as we head for Bran. We will enjoy breathtaking sceneries with the beautiful Fagaras Mountains. In Bran we find out if this is really Dracula’s castle and Dracula’s true legend. After lunch we head out for Sinaia to visit Peles, the royal summer residence and to discover the history of Romanian monarchy. On our way to Sibiu we pass through Brasov.

Sighisoara, Dracula and Prince Charles
A stroll on the narrow streets of Sighisoara can take you back to medieval times. This is where we also visit Dracula’s native home. We will enjoy a picnic at the Apafi Palace from Malancrav, a place where Prince Charles himself lived. In Biertan we will visit one of the most beautiful Saxon churches in Transylvania, part of the UNESCO heritage.

Multiculturalism tram
In the morning we visit the Folkloric Museum in Dumbrava Forest, the largest open air museum in Romania. After we observe the architecture and culture of the Romanian village we take the tram to travel to Rasinari, an old shepherds’ village from Marginimea Sibiului. From Cioran and Goga’s village we start an easy hike towards Cisnadioara, a Saxon villagenear Sibiu. Here we can visit a unique Roman basilica.

Forgotten fortresses on Hartibaciu Valley
On this tour we discover Saxon churches seldom seen by the tourist’s eye. Hartibaciu Valley, once an important commercial route is nowadays almost forgotten. We will discover nature and churches not yet explored by mass tourism. In a forgotten world, where internet is not yet known and the horse and carriage is the main means of transport we will discover the simple life.

Beautiful fortresses in the surroundings of Sibiu
In the morning we head for Cisnadie where we will visit an imposing fortified church. Not far away from Cisnadie we visit the Roman basilica from Cisnadioara. Through Cristian we reach Sibiel where we can visit the Icon Museum. At the end of the tour we can enjoy a great traditional meal in a local’s house.
